BV Thermal Systems has been manufacturing Fluid Chillers since 1980 and has come to be known as an expert in process fluid temperature control.  

An important piece when selecting a fluid chiller for your application is determining the best heat transfer fluid.  Ensuring heat transfer fluid compatibility is crucial to reliability and dependability.  Other pieces to consider may be stability, low viscosity, low freezing point and low toxicity to name a few.  Using this criteria as a starting point, some of the most common coolants used today are: 

  • Water
  • DI Water < or = to 500kOhm, SS units (F1 option) can run deionized water up to 18.25Mohm.
  • Water, Isopropyl Alcohol mixtures
  • All “Branded Glycols” for example “Dowcal” or “Dowfrost” by Dow.
  • Dielectric / non-conductive fluids

Mercury Laboratory Chillers

Glycol Chillers from BV Thermal Systems provide better heat transfer parameters than water, and can be mixed with water to provide a variety of heat transfer characteristics. We recommend a minimum % mix of EG ethylene glycol or  propylene glycol (PG) depending upon the application.
